SQUARTEDS builds 3D scenes in a computer program and takes nine different images from that scene. The 3d scenes are completely built up in an empty environment, similar to, for instance, starting a 2D- painting on an empty canvas. All elements are modelled (drawn) and finished with materials and textures. A traditional painter mixes his paints on his palette and sees the result immediately. The 3D engineer assigns the parameters of the colours, materials and textures to the scene and sees the result only after the image has been calculated or rendered. This process is largely similar to the traditional These creative processes are quite similar.
The point of view from which the scene is observed and the choice of lighting are important components of the end result. The 3D scene is converted to various 2D images or visuals. Together the nine visuals provide a complete view of the 3D scene, but one single SQUARTED from a series is a unique work of art. Virtual art in solid form.
